Catherine Coloma is a digital and type designer from Manila, Philippines. Her work combines code and typography to build digital tools for creating visual identities and supporting cultural preservation, translating tradition into forms that stay relevant for future generations.
She holds a Master of Arts in Digital Communication Environments from Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel FHNW, studied Schriftgestaltung (Type Design) at Schule für Gestaltung in Basel, Switzerland, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising Arts from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.

CREATING SINCE THE 2000s
When I was a child, I liked to draw on the walls all over our
house. Instead of chiding me, my parents encouraged this habit
and that early freedom fostered my creativity.
At the age of 10, I discovered the power of the Magic Wand
in Adobe Photoshop, a newfound ability that sparked a deeper
interest in design and the rest is history.
Experimenting with new tools and reinventing design processes
is what I love most. It's the same curiosity that drove me
in my early years and it still shapes how I approach my work.
